Summer 2024 Pack Events

Attend at least three events to earn the Summertime Fun belt loop!

Great Scout Campout at Old Sturbridge Village

Date: Saturday, June 8th, to Sunday, June 9th, 2024

Time: Check-in starts at 5pm on Saturday

Location: Old Sturbridge Village

Cost: $80 for youth, $65 for adults

Uniform: Class-B (yellow tshirt)

Each Pack 40 family will register individually but will join up at the event

Join other area scouts and families for a unique camping experience in the countryside of Old

Sturbridge Village! Campers are invited to pitch their tents in the Village and enjoy an evening of

tours and activities throughout the museum. The evening will be topped off with stories by a roaring

bonfire. As part of the ticket price, campers will enjoy a BBQ dinner and continental breakfast and

can also visit the Village during open hours (9:30am-5pm) on June 8th and/or June 9th.

Pack Hike - CANCELLED due to bad weather conditions

Date: Saturday July 13, 2024

Time: 10am - noon

Location: Purgatory Chasm: 198 Purgatory Rd, Sutton, MA.

Meet:  outside the visitor's center next to the parking lot

Cost: Parking fee: $5 for MA resident, $20 for non-MA resident (determined by vehicle license plate)

Uniform: Class-B (yellow tshirt)

This trail is FUN for the kids, with lots of big boulders to climb over! Not stroller-friendly.

We will plan to hike two loops that both start near the parking lot. Folks can choose to hike one or both loops. Estimate that each loop will take 45-60 minutes.

Wear sturdy shoes and bring your Cub Scout 6 Essentials (water, whistle, snacks, sun protection, first-aid kit, flashlight) and bug spray.

There is a playground and picnic tables (and sometimes an ice cream truck!) next to the parking lot/visitors center. Visitors center also has restrooms and water fountains.

Annual Pack Planning Meeting*

Location: Austin patio ( 1 Dartmouth St, Natick)

Agenda: All pack 40 adults are invited to join us in choosing the dates and activities for the pack for the upcoming Scout year!

Space Odyssey family camping at Scout Camp Resolute

Date: Saturday Aug 3 - Sunday Aug 4, 2024

Time: arrive Saturday beginning at 10am, depart Sunday morning after breakfast

Location: Scout Camp Resolute, Bolton MA

Cost: $25 per person

Uniform: Class-B (yellow tshirt)

Stop by our gravity defying obstacle course or make a trip to the arts and crafts area to create your very own alien friend. From spaceship design and testing to star gazing by the light of the fire. Buckle up as we defy gravity and dive headfirst into the unknown, where every constellation is a treasure map and every asteroid field a challenge to conquer.

• Check-In begins at 10am - campsites will be assigned upon arrival

• Adventure Areas open 11am-4pm (families should plan to bring a brown bag lunch and snacks for the day)

• Dinner will be served at the Dining Hall 6pm-7pm

• Campfire Program & Smores 7:30pm

• Lights Out at 10pm

• Site Cleanup 8:30am -9:30am

Time: 4pm until game is over, or camp in the field and leave the next morning

Veterans Day Parade

Parents feel free to walk along side the pack.  At this age parents usually carry the water bottles.
