This page lists upcoming pack events. These are open for all Pack 40 Cub Scouts and their families to participate in!

The grade-specific den meetings are communicated by each den leader, and are not listed on this page.

"Say Yes to Reading"

Usually each summer Scout Life runs a “Say Yes to Reading” contest, where kids write a one-page report titled “The Best Book I Read This Year.”

Scout Life did not advertise their contest this summer -- but Pack 40 loves to encourage reading & writing, and will still count it towards the Summertime Fun adventure!

Please email Diane at dianeorf@gmail.com if your child completes a book report before Sept 26, and it will count as one activity towards the Summertime Fun adventure.

Cub Scout booth at Natick Days - Sept 19, 2026*

Date: Saturday, Sept 19, 2026

Time: any time during 10am-3pm (please let Diane know if you plan to come, Diane will be there 10am-noon)

Location: downtown Natick - parking lot to the East of Town Hall.

Cost: free

Suggested Uniform: Class-A (blue/tan) or Class-B (yellow tshirt)

Bring / other details: Kids can help answer questions for prospective Cub Scouts, or help run the Lego mini pinewood derby track activity!

September Pack Meeting: "Scout Skills" and optional campout

Date: Saturday, September 26, 2026

Time: Pack meeting 2-3:30pm 

-- Optionally stay for evening activities, dinner, and campfire!

-- Optionally stay for campout!

The campout will end the morning of September 27 after breakfast.

Location: Nobscot Scout Reservation: 1 Nobscot Rd, Sudbury, MA

Meet at the Peabody campsite! (See pg 2 of info sheet for directions).

Cost: Pack meeting free, evening activities / camping $20 per family

Suggested Uniform: Class-A (blue/tan shirt)

• Refer to this info sheet for directions, facility info, suggested camping packing list and a rough agenda.

• Everyone: bring Cub Scout Six Essentials (whistle, water, snack, sun protection, flashlight, first aid kit) and bugspray.

• Campers: bring above, plus items on suggested packing list on page 4 of the info sheet.

November Pack Meeting: Veterans Day Parade

Parent/guardian required for Lions & Tigers (K & 1st grade), encouraged for others. Siblings welcome!

** Disappearing neckerchief slides **

A couple Cub Scouts' neckerchief slides have slid off and gotten lost already this year. You can put a rubber band under the slide or tie the neckerchief in a knot under the slide to keep it more secure.
