This page lists upcoming pack events. These are open for all Pack 40 Cub Scouts and their families to participate in!
The grade-specific den meetings are communicated by each den leader, and are not listed on this page.
** Participate in any 3 Scouting activities to earn the Summertime Fun adventure **
It's summer! Dens take the summer off, and the pack offers/attends events for families who want to stay engaged.
We will keep attendance at pack activities, and will also check in with everyone at the end of the season to see if we missed anything that counts towards the Summertime Fun adventure.
Have a fun summer, everyone!

This trail is relatively flat, with beautiful scenery. There are some steps and trails are uneven (roots, rocks, etc). Not stroller-friendly.
We will meet outside the visitors center next to the parking lot and hike out to some pretty waterfalls. Estimate the hike to take 45-60 minutes.
Wear sturdy shoes and bring your Cub Scout 6 Essentials (water, whistle, snacks, sun protection, first-aid kit, flashlight) and bug spray.
Visitors center also has restrooms and water fountains.

Location: New England Sci Tech
16 Tech Cir, Natick, MA

Suggested Uniform: Class B (yellow tshirt)
Bring a friend? This event is open to members only. If space is still available 1 week prior, we will open to siblings.
Other details:
This event is not drop-off for any age. A parent/guardian must accompany every participant.
Info from New England Sci Tech:
Rocketry Explorer: We make paper rockets that launch with air pressure in the parking lot safely, and we talk about current events in space science and the plan to send astronauts to the moon and Mars. We talk about gravity and demonstrate propulsion (using air power), and examine several models of the current rockets being launched (NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, etc.) as well as the historic Apollo-era Saturn V and Space Shuttle. At the end of the workshop scouts launch their rockets and take them home.
Supervision: We need to be clear that our program is only for scouts and their parents. Siblings tagging along become distractions and sometimes a safety issue. We kindly request that every child is a paid participant and no other children are brought along for the ride.
Date: Saturday, Aug 15, 2026
Time: 9am-11am
Location: Lake Cochituate
Park on the street near 16 Bayberry Rd, Natick.
Walk in through the opening in the chain-link fence.
Yellow Pack 40 signs will guide you to the fishing area.
Note: 16 Bayberry Rd is just a nearby address to put into the maps app, we don't know those people! Don't go to their house 😄
Cost: Free
Registration: Please sign up for a time slot here by Aug 8, 2026.
You don't have to come exactly at your time, but it's an attempt to space folks out since the fishing area is small.
Suggested Uniform: Class B (yellow tshirt)
Bring a friend? Yes! The more the merrier!
Other details:
Bring: your fishing gear, Cub Scout 6 Essentials (water, whistle, snacks, sun protection, first-aid kit, flashlight) and bug spray. Extra fishing gear will be available for folks to borrow who do not have their own. Pack dads Matt and Greg will be on-hand to help those new to fishing, and make sure the Cub Scouts learn how to fish safely and have fun!
Depending on how many sign up, expect to fish for about 10-15 minutes so the shore does not get too crowded.
Activities including a walking trail will be available for the kids before/after fishing.
